I built a custom circuit board based on sparkfun's IOIO board () so I could take advantage of all the great java libraries available. I'm aware of several other commercial 'plug in' android head unit replacements for older BMW's. My motivation for doing this was mainly to learn about android and to have something to make my car my own. Hopefully this inspires someone else to try some DIY.

Note: This interface enables your Android device to send and receive data from the BMW.
