Hi, First please test the hotfix in following article for SMB2: And if SP1 is not installed, install on both server and client computers to see the result. Actually a similar issue is discussed a lot.

See the following 2 threads: Files not showing up in networked drive Windows Explorer doesn't refresh when moving/deleting - Part 3 TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tnmff@microsoft.com. Is that the only server or do you have more of them? The immediate thing that comes to mind is if the shared network folder is in fact a DFS replicated share (eg the same data is replicated across multiple servers, and different users connect to different copies), then some users if they are directed to a different copy may see a delay before they see the files you've added, since it takes a while for the new data to be replicated to the other locations. When you say users can't see the files for a while, do you mean if they navigate to that folder immediately after you've saved the files there they can't see them, or do you mean that if they're in that folder already it takes a while before they see the files have been added? Presumably you've tried refreshing the display, eg pressing f5?

Thank you for your reply and here are answers to your questions: We only have the one server which is our domain controller and our file server so the workstations are not connected to/through any other servers. The problem is the same either way no matter is the user in the target folder or if they navigate to the folder after the transfer has been done. The files are very small (like 0-5 Mb max) so the wait time should be in seconds before they should appear in the target folder. Refreshing doesn’t help. I am having trouble installing SQL server 2008 standard R2 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine. I have SQL server 2005 installed on my machine which I have all my databases stored. I backed up all of them which I am not sure how to load them on SQL server 2008 R2 and it would accept them. When I started to install SQL server 2008 R2, I selected new installation and everthing was good till I got to the step Installation Rules. Says with red circle X's 'SQL Server 2005 Express tools' failed and 'Previous releases of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008' failed which I installed vs 2008 sp1 which still registers as failed. If I uninstall SQL Server 2005 Express tools, will it install SQL Server 2008 tools and I will I be able to use SQL server 2005?

I want to make sure that the databases on SQL server 2005 wont get deleted and the databases saved on my hard drive and flash drive will be able to be loaded on SQL server 2008 R2. How would I be able to approach this issue? Hi Kingcandlepin, Uninstall the prerelease version of SQL Server 2008.

Please make sure you have installed Visual Studio 2008 SP1 before you install SQL Server 2008 R2. If you install Visual Studio 2008 after you install SQL Server 2008, you must install Visual Studio 2008 SP1 to have a supported configuration. Visual Studio 2008 SP1 is not required if you have not installed the following features in SQL Server 2008: •Management Tools (Basic or Complete) • Integration Services Business • Intelligence Development Studio For more information, please refer to. If you have installed Visual Studio 2008 SP1, please refer to. Thanks, Maggie Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
